We know our 'petals' from our 'kettles'

 7th May 2009

Having received our City & Guilds registration, this summer we will be delivering the new Preparation to Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) course known in the further education sector, by its acronym 'petals' to our own trainers.

All teachers working in the public further education sector will have to take the petals - Preparation for Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector, followed by either the 'kettles' (Certificate) or 'dettols' (Diploma) within five years but there is no requirement for trainers in the private sector to undertake the courses.

Brenig Moore, Operations Director, said of the new qualifications:
"Our trainers are trained to the highest level and many have a variety of teaching qualifications, ranging from Cert Eds to PGCEs to previous C&G qualifications, however, we believe that the new City & Guilds qualifications are a positive move in setting an internal benchmark. As one of the leading training companies in health & safety qualifications, we have always ensured that our trainers are experts in this area, so we are pleased to offer this new nationally recognised qualification to our own team."

Following aninitial training programme within the company, Connaught Compliance Training Services will be offering the PTLLS and CTLLS qualifications as part of our full range of training courses.
