Who the Course is For

This course is for those persons who are liable to disturb asbestos while carrying out their normal everyday work; or who may influence how work is carried out. It is aimed primarily at those in the maintenance and construction industry.

Course Overview

A legal requirement under Regulation 10 Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006, it gives delegates an awareness of managing asbestos in buildings

The course has 3 sessions they cover:

Session 1

• The nature of asbestos, sources and uses.
• Typical uses of asbestos in construction materials
• Asbestos related health effects and diseases.

Session 2

• Overview of Legislation
• The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006
• Regulation 4, The Duty to Manage Asbestos in Non-Domestic Premises

Session 3

• Safe working procedures
• Use of Personal and Respiratory Protective Equipment
