Air Monitoring

The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 require organisations to identify and monitor hazardous substances. Part of this requirement is to measure the concentration of hazardous airborne substances, such as dust, fume or vapour. The levels of harmful substances need to be ascertained in order to ensure compliance with occupation exposure limits contained within HSE guidance note EH40.

CHSS have very experienced Occupational Hygienists with the appropriate equipment who can carry out this type of complicated measuring to ensure that your business complies with these legal requirements. We can monitor your workforce's exposure to chemicals and provide a sampling to establish if health limits are being exceeded.

CHSS will, following an on-site visit, provide a comprehensive report which includes the following:

  • Details of the methodology used including reference to HSE reference methods
  • A comprehensive record of all measurements undertaken
  • Conclusions relating to the effectiveness of existing control measures
  • Detailed recommendations outlining options available for you to address any issues identified. These may include suggestions for alternative processes, engineering controls or systems of work and training
