Gap Analysis
Gap Analysis is the initial step in the review of your existing management system. It is an efficient foundation to implement a modern management system. It can be measured against ISO 14001 or OHSAS 18001.
What does a Gap Analysis do?
- It reveals the areas of improvement in your existing management system
- It investigates your existing management system against the principal requirements of ISO 14001 or OHSAS 18001
- It focuses on the components of the management system and how effective they are
What do we do?
- A site visit to interview senior staff and other members of the workforce if necessary, observe working conditions and practices to understand your organisation and associated potential risks
- Examine your existing management system i.e. policy, objectives, targets and programmes, performance measurement, emergency procedures, auditing programmes, assessment of risk and risk control, operational control, training and competency
- Compare the Management System components to ISO 14001 or OHSAS 18001 requirements and identify the gaps
- Examine existing arrangements: organisation, policies, procedures
- Examine records, assessments and other key documentation
- Discuss findings and agree possible actions
