IOSH Aviation Specialist Group

 31 Aug 2007

This is a recently launched IOSH specialist sector group for all companies directly & indirectly involved with the airline industry. This group's objective is to keep people involved in the airline industry or who supply to it, up to speed with all the key health & safety issues.

The launch event  which took place on 4 October at Tewin Bury Farm in Hertfordshire was a great success. All the hot topics were covered by experts from the HSE, Civil Aviation Authority, BMI, Connaught, Air Canada, BALPA with question & answer sessions.  Connaught Consultant Alex Hills talked through the case study with Keith Merrie of bmi on the noise & fume monitoring he has carried out. The event closed with a fascinating similation by Rik Moore of BALPA that everyone could experience of a pilot landing & then turning around within a timeframe with rolepays of options facing a pilot & the best solutions.

Connaught was delighted to support the event as the principal sponsor based on our considerable experience of providing health, safety & environmental training solutions for the airline sector & suppliers to it.
