Manual Handling Risk Assessment
More than a third of all over 3-day injuries reported each year to HSE and local authorities are caused by manual handling. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require risk assessments of manual handling activities carried out by people who are competent. The level of competence will vary depending on the complexity of the tasks. We are experienced at carrying out high volume risk assessments.
When do we carry out Manual Handling Risk Assessments?
- For all new jobs and tasks
- When a job changes significantly
- When the work area changes for example a new building or new flight of stairs
- If the user is diagnosed with manual handling injuries or thinks they may be suffering
- Periodically for example every 2 years as good practice
