Effective NEBOSH Diploma Course Materials

Interactive Multimedia
The course will be deployed via the company's Blackboard VLE (Virtual Learning System). The notes are available as a pdf to download and they are complemented by a highly interactive multimedia course. Each module clearly defines its learning outcomes and you are able to move around the course at your choice rather than being restricted to page by page viewing. The diverse multimedia content develops your knowledge and understanding of the syllabus and helps you pass the NEBOSH Diploma exams. The following tools are available:
Dedicated Tutor Support
You are not alone. Tutor support is available from our dedicated Diploma team. They are all chartered consultants, experienced practitioners, NEBOSH examiners with training qualifications. They will provide feedback, answer questions you have via email within 48 hours (in office hours).
Exam Preparation
Every module uses a bank of NEBOSH questions and recommended answers to prepare you thoroughly for the exam. Every 5 modules there is a mini mock exam to demonstrate your competence with tutor feedback. Diploma exams take place in January & July.

Entry Requirements
Course providers are required by NEBOSH to take reasonable steps to ensure that prospective course members have a good chance of successfully completing the course. It is strongly recommended that delegates hold the NEBOSH National General Certificate, the NEBOSH International General Certificate, NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Safety & Health or equivalent level 3 qualification subject to agreement with Connaught Training Services. If delegates do not have a level 3 qualification we will expect them to take an exam to demonstrate this required level of competence accompanied by an interview with a tutor. This will have cost implications.
Course Overview
The NEBOSH National Diploma, a unique professional qualification in health & safety, aims to provide the knowledge & understanding that underpins competent performance as an Occupational Health & Safety Professional. It is a structured route to progress your career in health & safety comprised of 4 units. On successful completion of the National Diploma and registration for the Initial Professional Development (IPD) the designatory letters GradIOSH can be used. CMIOSH which is chartered status is gained after successful completion of 2 years Initial Professional Development skills based portfolio and undertake a professional review interview.
Who the Course is For
The National Diploma is designed for individuals who want to progress their career in health & safety & develop more in-depth knowledge & skills aiming to become health & safety practitioners.
Learning Outcomes
After successfully completing the course the delegate will:
- Gain GradIOSH designatory letters can be used once enrolment for a period of Initial Professional Development (IPD) is completed.
- Attain CMIOSH - chartered status is gained after successful completion of a minimum of 2 years of Initial Professional Development during which they will develop a skills based portfolio and undertake a professional review interview, subject to approval by the Privy Council.
- Be able to provide detailed advice for health & safety issues in line with current legislation & HSE guidance.
- Be able to assist the organisation in continual health & safety management and control measures.
- Have a broad range of detailed knowledge & the application of key health & safety issues.
Assessment System
The assessment consists of three 3-hour exams for Units A, B & C & a workplace-based assignment for Unit D. All are set & marked by NEBOSH.
