The new Noise at Work Regulations 2005 have lowered the 'Action Levels' by 5 dB(A), introduced an 'Exposure Limit Value' which is an absolute maximum to not be exceeded, provision for weekly averaging and they have placed an explicit requirement to undertake health surveillance for noise by trained people.
