Safety Cases

In a number of industries, such as Nuclear, Railway, Oil and Gas, Petro-Chemical, Chemical safety cases are mandated by regulation. Demonstrating effective control and sufficiently robust emergency systems are the requirements of a good safety case.

COMAH Safety Cases

The Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) regulations mandate a strict control regime with regard to the storage and handling of detailed large amounts of hazardous substances. Controls include the development of emergency plans / operating procedures and control measures to deal with normal operations and foreseeable emergencies.

The development of a safety case, which details safe storage methods, operational control, and emergency controls and procedures will satisfy enforcing authorities when it comes to demonstrating compliance with the Regulations.
